unlikely that customers will come knowing on your door.
The following two tests will provide you with a basic
indication of how visible you are on the internet. If you have
trouble finding yourself here, then so will your customers. If

Go to a number of search engines and type in your brand
name. You should have at least one mention on the first
page of results. If you don’t appear at all, then you
are as good as invisible to your customers. How often
did you list? Who owns your brand?

This time, search for the consumer term that would best
describe the “thing” your brand stands for. E.G.
“chocolate” for Cadbury, “holidays” for Jetset,
etc. If you don’t exist here, you are invisible in
your customers consideration set. Are you a competitor
in the market?
