Mark Bergin is the founder of Thinking and has seen the company through times that has seen many others disappear.
Thinking experience has covered many different aspects over the years. Here are the salient points.
19 years experience dealing in online publishing.
This experience only comes through doing the hard yards whilst consistently meeting and exceeding client expectations. Many of our clients have been with the company for over 9 years and we have partnered with them as they progress through various e-business initiatives.
Experience in dealing across both private and public organisations (over 1780 client briefs).
The company is used to working both across and within both private and public sector organisations. Senior staff at Thinking have been involved at a high level with various Government initiatives such as Victoria 21 and the Interact Multimedia Festival, whilst also holding senior management positions in the private sector. Both Mark Bergin and Peter Barta were founding members of AIMIA whose mission it was to provide a common nexus for the various industry groups and stakeholders. AIMIA is the Interactive Multimedia Industry Association and is probably now in its tenth year of operation.
Variety of inhouse developed content publishing and management systems.
Thinking uses a number of proprietory and third party software applications. We have developed a suite of own own content publishing and management applications that are being used by nearly 1000 people across our client base. The company partners with local and international CMS providers to extend the range of tools available to our solutions.
Audience based content management models and research methodologies.
One of our objectives in such a project is to focus on the user experience. By having investigated what determines a positive user experience, we can design a solution that is user centred. A positive user experience at the end of the day ultimately determines how effective the site is and indicates whether it will receive strong word of mouth support which is particularly important in the youth market. Mark Bergin is a regular speaker for CHISIG which is the peak body dealing with computer/human interface issues.
Thinking will make use of a number of models it has developed over the years looking at consumer online behaviour. At this stage the audience content management we believe will be that of a system that handles a distributed authoring base with various profiles and access rights working within some standardised common design framework. That framework will be based on user centred designs based on the initial scoping and usage scenarios.
Experienced senior people to manage the project.
The project will be managed by the principals of Thinking who have over 50 years combined experience in working across major online projects. Specific skills include project management, marketing and communications, account management and e-business.
Current experience with a range of large site publishing requirements with multiple stakeholders.
Thinking currently manages a number of large sites with multiple authoring capabilities. Examples are fallscreek.com.au, makeawish.org.au, eqt.com.au and ronstan.com.au.
Thinking can work to bring together a range of external parties under a common publishing platform.
Our team more often than not deals with multiple stakeholders and we have the ability to work with diverse teams to achieve a common purpose. Our business method has been to develop inhouse content models and leverage best of breed support to ensure maximum effectiveness of outcomes.
