Australians Are Really Wired!

According to a recent survey by the Taylor Nelson Sofres Group as part of the TNS Interactive Global eCommerce Report 2001, Australia ranked among the most highly wired markets in the world.

• Online shopping in Australia has grown by 82% in the past year.

• Of the total Australian population, 54% of males and 43% of females are Net users.

• The proportion of Australians using the Internet grew slightly compared with last year, from 45% to 48%.

• Australians are becoming increasingly comfortable with carrying out transactions on the Internet

• Australia has a 67% mobile phone penetration rate.
